Hi, I’m Archie, a graphic designer based on the
South Coast UK.
I started off in the world of graphic design back in 2016 where I worked as a low level Marketing Executive for a small tech company. My role mainly required me to focus on the graphic side of things, mailers, leaflets, website imagery and banners etc. After 3 years in this role I took a bit of leap and decided to study Visual Communication at Arts University Bournemouth at the age of 24.
Whilst at AUB, I focussed mainly on typography and type design, things I have a great passion for. I graduated in the summer of 2022 with a portfolio I am proud of. Since leaving AUB, I have worked as a Studio Artworker in an extremely fast paced branded merchandise company and now I currently work for a large law firm as their in-house designer.
As mentioned, I do have a focus on typography and type design, I have been told many times that type design is not for everyone, I can’t say I disagree with this, however, I believe it demonstrates a true eye for detail and dedication to the creative process. The nuances of this are transferable and valuable to all aspects of graphic design.
My other interests include playing drums, I started at the age of 6 and have been fortunate to play in a band which had some very (very) small success. We toured up and down the country and played in a few times over in europe. I also like old cars. My first car was a 1967 Morris Minor which I still have. My daily driver is an old Volvo 240. Photography is a small hobby which I enjoy, I like to experitment with 35mm film and digital film simulations. I also love dogs, I’ve got a little jack russel called Ruby.
